2/13 Today was a big day for the Flash man! He rode in the car with me and
visited my friends at work. And also the people at the bank and at Staples!
He was quite tuckered out after that. He took it all in stride, and pee'ed
in the dirt for the first time!
The puppies are so good about going potty on the pads, I can actually
sit IN the box! They enjoyed that immensely, and so did I. Who's the biggest
lover of the bunch? Very hard to say! They just couldn't get enough.
2/14 Spent the day preparing the aviary for puppies. Under Merry's watchful
eye, I laid some sod, some bark, and set up the kennels with heat and
comfort. I wish it would stop raining!
2/15 By mid day, the puppers FINALLY made it outside. Yikes, it's cold! But
after hours of observation throughout the day, and even at 1AM, they are
snug as bugs in their heated kennel. Everyone understands how the flap in
the front works. When I first put them out, I placed them in the kennel. All
four boys came bursting out to greet the world! They were magnificent! The
girls on the other hand....Paris would have ventured out....but Wonder and
Bunnie seemed sure it was a bad idea so she was really torn. She stood by
the door sort of undecided. Wonder sat in the middle of the kennel sort of
zoned out, and Bunnie went directly to the back and went to bed. Possibly
the girls were more aware of the magnitude of the change? I think Bunnie was
hoping she would wake up back in her warm whelping box! "There's no
place like home!" Merry was quite
pleased with the move so I was happy for her approval. And an hour later all
the puppies began to explore their new world.
2/16 A full day of puppy snuggles! All the pups just cannot get enough human
contact.
2/17 The 'potty' business is moving farther and farther from the den. YAY!
Puppies are SO happy in their new place. I went out to check at 12:30AM and
they were all running around like it was the middle of the day! I was
freezing, but they were fine.
2/18 Merry loves for me to come out and sit. She sits next to me, nuzzling
and cleaning the babes. I really feel she has made me co-pilot. I am still
in awe of her, so calm, so affectionate toward them. And they are playing
with her now!
2/19 The puppy pecking order has begun! OI it's a fiesty bunch! :))
2/20 The puppies learn their first boundary. There is a 'lip' at the door
from the garage to the aviary, and they are already learning not to cross
it. I just can't have puppies underfoot when people are coming and going!

"Paris"
is the big surprise this week. I picked her up
when she seemed to be her most busiest......and she settled down in my arms
until I finally got tired and put her back. She is very very sweet, and I
believe a couple of boundaries made all the difference with her. With an
able leader she will be wonderful! At 4wks and 1 day, Paris not only gets
up on the pig rail, but walks around like she been doing it
forever....maybe she has and I missed it?
