5/28 Pearl's first recorded temp: 100.1

5/31 AM 100.3    99.6 PM Pearlie is doing SO well! I can feel the babies swimming around in there anytime I check now. Pearl did her first bit of nesting tonight! Digging in the dog beds while I watched a movie. When she got them all settled just the way she wanted them, she joined me on the couch. Tomorrow - xrays!
6/1 xrays show 5 big puppies! 8:30 PM 99.7. Pearl is showing some interesting behavior. She is cleaning herself alot, I guess she decided she needs a little practice before dealing with the real thing. She has adopted a elephant stuffie that makes elephant noises! She 'found' it yesterday when I stepped on it and it and it made it's elephant noise. Since then I have found it in her bed, completely drenched! And she curls her body around it like Merry did with her newborns, as if to keep them close. I also swear I saw her check it's butt! You know babies need constant cleaning!

She was also horribly nervous at the vet's which is so uncharacteristic of our little social butterfly. So I got her in and out of there as quick as I could! Even went back later to look at the xray, talk to the vet, and pay my bill.  I think she was thinking "no way am I having babies HERE!"
6/1 still : OK, Pearl forgot to read the whelping playbook! when I went to bed at 11:00 her temp was 100! By 11:15 her water broke and we were having puppies! (you are supposed to have many hours still when their temp goes down to the 98 range!)
11:30PM      FIVE healthy beautiful puppies! 2 black boys, 2 blue girls and 1 black girl!
