6/2 Pearl had her bath and we are now trying to get organized! She has her
"happy face" today, as you can see. Miss Pearl was an excellent
mother.........until I asked her why she wasn't cleaning the puppy butts!
She'll do the pee....but when I suggested 'kisses' in that area she looked
at me as though I might be retarded. "Surely you are not suggesting I
kiss THAT.!" So we'll have to see if I can teach her. Otherwise I am
going to be on "duty" duty ALOT.
Also, the tiniest boy is requiring some physical
therapy. He wants to lay on his tummy all the time and it is changing the
formation of the chest. I assume I will be able to convince him otherwise in
the next 2 days, and then maintenance after that. I feel we have already made
some visible progress today. Now, it needs to improve more, and STICK.

6/3 The tiny boy is doing better! Seems yesterday's diligent efforts are
paying off. I put him in a hand sandwich, on his side, where apply just a
small amount of pressure from the top- like if is sister was sleeping on
him. When he is nursing or resting with mom, I am constantly moving him so
that he is lying on his side. He sticks really close to mom, so sometimes I
have to dig around for him! This morning he was already on his side!
Excellent! Now I would like to see some weight gain. He is holding at 5oz.
We have a new problem now, that affects all the babes. Pearl is really not
helping them eliminate in a timely manner. And she doesn't realized that is
why they are crying! She gets upset when they cry but doesn't realize she
can fix it. So.....I was up about 5 times during the night at regular
intervals. You can imagine, especially the small ones....they need to go
potty as often as they nurse! HMMMM as I am writing this she is cleaning a
puppy! Good job Pearlie!
6/4 The little guy has gained 1/2 ounce, weighing in at 5.5oz. Not great,
but we'll take it. He still seems strong.
Pearl has discovered her elephant again! She was very
excited/nervous to find it. She walked around with it in her mouth, whining.
Then she went around to different beds, and I kept saying NO. So she has
added it to her brood. Probably hoping the others will take note of it's impeccable
manners and lack of poop!!
Pearl will have to be on her own today, as I must return to work. I'll
be checking in though, throughout the day.
6/5 Thank you Miss Pearl, for taking on ALL the responsibilities of
motherhood!!! I am almost feeling human again. And the little guy weighs in
this morning at 6.0 oz. This afternoon I found him on a big 'faucet' in the
back! Drink up little one.
6/6 "Trump" weighs in at 6.3oz! Slowly but surely, we are gaining
ground. The pups had their vet check yesterday, and their lungs and hearts
got a clean bill of health. :)
This evening, Trump weighs in over 7 oz!! YIPPPPIEEEEEE!!! I am now,
finally, doing the happy dance.

6/8 Meanwhile, the stuffie elephant is still in the picture. When the
elephant was added to the brood I had to remove it when I went to work. Like
a baby's crib, you just don't want anything in there! So I put it up on the
pig rail. (In the picture it looks like it is sitting on her head!) But when
I came home later that day I noticed that 'stuffie elephant' was
missing.
Pearl has made a separate bed for a collection of special
'stuffie puppies'. Of course it is on MY bed. A nice round, cozy spot on the
passenger side. :)
