These puppies are extra special as they were conceived the day I lost my Dad. Both my parents grew up with German Shepherds, and so did I. My father had many great stories of the gorgeous shepherds he grew up with. Lots of stories of heroism and kindness. Those dog stories were probably the foundation for my love for dogs and the appreciation of the human/dog relationship.

"Elliot"
Blue Merle Boy

"Elliot" was my Grandpa Lutz's middle name. My dad was Grandpa's twin, and I am not far from the female version. Camera and equipment hanging off every limb, stopping the car for photos at every turn, and a deep appreciation for the Wild
.

"Ruthie"
Blue Merle Girl

"Ruth", the only girl in the litter, named after my Dad's mom. All his life he missed his mother and talked about her only occasionally but with deep emotion.

"Steadman"
Black Tri Boy

"Stedman" is my Granma Lutz's maiden name. Grandma Lutz was a special lady, although I did not know her well, she was kind and soft spoken. And always wearing a soft smile.

"Rex"
Blue Merle Boy

"Rex" was the name of my father's cherished GSD....and actually he must have really loved the name and the dog because there was Rex 1 and then many years later Rex 2! Both dogs were the subject of story after story and played a huge part in my Dad's life.

"Boudreaux"
Black Tri Boy

All my life, any animal that was brought into the family, my father tried to name Boudreaux. He would come, with a nod and a twinkle in is eye...he would point to the latest addition and say "Boudreaux?" My Mom and I would shake our heads emphatically. NO! ;) Well, here ya go dad. And I must say he wears it well.  (Boudreaux was undoubtedly the name of an important scientist. I asked him once and the person's name was about 6 names long! no wonder I can't recall!)
